Life in Business Suit

Ironed to perfection white shirt, cushion soled formal shoes, dry cleaned Business Suit and there we are- in our perfect corporate look. We spend most of our alert time in that attire preparing presentations, excels, business cases and as rightly said working towards fulfilling somebody else’s dream.

Being away from the family is normal as our profile demands travelling and you can’t say NO to that schedule as it is critical for your professional growth and bank account health.
A major difference which our generation has compared to the previous one is that we are hungry for more. Our aspirations are high and so are the stress level.
Re quoting what I read once, we work 16 hours a day to pay the EMI of the house where we stay for 8 hours.

Wait, stop for a while- the extra meeting would not add to our memonictonary (don’t google the word, you wont find it there. I use this word for the photo album which is saved in our minds as pictorial memory). It is essential to get out of the Business suit for sometime and live the way we want to. Our excels won’t make us smile but our family would. Our presentations wont ask us for a drink when we feel low but our friends would.
Do a quick test, just think of people who would be the same as they are today if you don’t have the title what you have today.

Tap Beer Syndrome

It was a hot n humid September afternoon in Mumbai, I was chilling out with my favorite gang - Amit & Chetal. From GST to politics to cricket to Netflix, I was loving the way we were changing the discussion topics like Mumbai weather. Engrossed in a serious discussion about how India is moving, finally Amit remembered that we are supposed to feed ourselves. On asking my choice - I expressed my desire to have a tap beer. Isnt that too precise and why Tap beer. So, my subconscious mind remembered that it was a dry day. Both laughed as this wasn’t the first time I was asking for something that was unavailable.
